Privacy Policy

Version 2.0 · Effective

This Privacy Policy explains how PondShare LLC ("PondShare," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, mobile apps, and services (together, the "Service").

Information we collect

  • Account details: name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and whether you use PondShare as an angler, a host, or both.
  • Listing details (hosts): pond photos, location, descriptions, pricing, availability, and house rules.
  • Location: with your permission, your device location so we can show ponds near you. You can turn this off in your device settings.
  • Bookings and messages: booking requests, confirmations, cancellations, waiver acceptance records, and messages between anglers and hosts.
  • Payment data: payments and payouts are processed by Stripe. Card numbers and bank account details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by PondShare. We receive limited information such as payment status and the last digits of a card.
  • Usage and device data: pages viewed, features used, device type, browser, IP address, and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar technologies including Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel.

How we use information

  • To create and manage your account and provide the Service.
  • To show ponds near you, process bookings, and enable messaging between anglers and hosts.
  • To process payments, refunds, and host payouts.
  • To record acceptance of the liability waiver and listing rules.
  • To provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the Service secure.
  • To measure and improve the Service and our marketing.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Third parties we share with

  • Stripe — payment processing and host payouts.
  • Google — analytics (Google Analytics 4) and related services.
  • Meta — advertising measurement (Meta Pixel).
  • Mapping and weather providers — to display maps, pond locations, and conditions.
  • Other users — hosts see the name, party size, and booking details of anglers who request their pond; anglers see host listing details and messages. A pond's general area is shown publicly; its exact address and gate details are shared only with anglers who have a confirmed booking.
  • Service providers and authorities — hosting, email, and support vendors acting on our behalf, and where required by law.

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising measurement. The Meta Pixel shares the pages you visit, device and browser details, and IP address with Meta Platforms to measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and to help Meta show them to people likely to be interested. In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, the Meta Pixel only runs after you accept it. Elsewhere it runs by default. You can accept or decline at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; we keep a record of your choice, when you made it, and the notice version shown. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on.

Data security and storage

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted connections, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Your information is stored and processed in the United States.

Your choices and rights

  • You can view and update your account information in the app at any time.
  • You can turn off location access in your device settings and unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in each email.
  • We honor Global Privacy Control browser signals as an opt-out of advertising cookies such as the Meta Pixel.
  • Depending on your state, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising. To make a request, contact us at support@pondshare.app. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Retention

We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Booking, payment, and waiver records may be kept longer where needed for legal, tax, dispute, or safety purposes.

Account deletion

You can request deletion of your account from within the app or by contacting us. We will delete or de-identify your personal information, except for records we must keep for legal or financial reasons.

Children

The Service is not directed to children, and only adults 18 or older may create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A minor may attend a booking only when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian; the minor release must be accepted on the minor’s behalf by their natural guardian under Florida Statute § 744.301; in that case we record only the guardian's acceptance and the number of minors in the party. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email.
