This Privacy Policy describes how PondShare ("PondShare," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, processes, and discloses your information in connection with your access to and use of the PondShare mobile application and services (collectively, "Services"). By using our Services, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. Our Services are intended solely for individuals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information directly from you, from third parties, and automatically through our Services.

2.1 Information Provided by Users

Name, email address, phone number, and user profile images used for identification within the app.

2.2 Financial and Payment Data

Sensitive information is securely handled by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant). We store only transaction identifiers and partial card info (last 4 digits) to facilitate payouts and records.

2.3 Precise Location Data (GPS)

We use your precise GPS location data to show nearby fishing listings and calculate distances. This data is essential for navigating to fishing spots and verifying property boundaries to prevent trespassing. We only access this data while you are actively using the app; we do not track your location in the background.

2.4 Automatically Collected Data

We use Sentry to collect device data (OS version, model) and crash logs to maintain app performance.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data for app functionality, account management, and fraud prevention. Specifically:

• Facilitate Transactions: Process bookings and manage Host payouts.
• Safety and Security: Enforce our Terms of Service and maintain an internal Host Block List.
• UGC Moderation: We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content or abusive behavior. Users have access to in-app tools to report or block any other user or content that violates our standards.

4. Sharing and Disclosure

We share data only as necessary to operate the marketplace:

• Service Providers: Trusted vendors like Stripe (payments), Supabase (auth), and Sentry (crash reporting).
• Between Users: Confirmed bookings share necessary contact details (Name, Phone Number) between Anglers and Hosts for operational communication.
• Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect user safety.

5. Your Rights and Data Deletion

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data.

• In-App Account Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data directly within the App Settings menu.
• Web-Based Deletion Request: If you no longer have the app installed, you can request permanent account and data deletion via our web resource: https://www.pondshare.app/account-deletion.html
• Data Removal: Upon a valid request, we will permanently delete your account and all associated data, except where retention is legally required (e.g., tax records).

6. Data Security and Retention

We implement industry-standard security, including HTTPS encryption in transit, to protect your data.

• Retention: We retain booking records for 7 years for tax compliance and chat/location data for 90 days for safety audits.
• Deletion: When data is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or anonymized.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notice at least 30 days before taking effect.
